- 1
A message for every nation
The first angel carries “the everlasting gospel” to “every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people” (Revelation 14:6). The good news of salvation through Jesus is not new — it is everlasting — yet it is proclaimed with special urgency at the end of time.
- 2
Worship the Creator
The call to “fear God, and give glory to him” is joined to a reason: “the hour of his judgment is come.” We are invited to “worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters” (Revelation 14:7) — language that echoes the fourth commandment (Exodus 20:11).
- 3
A warning about deception
The second angel announces, “Babylon is fallen” (Revelation 14:8). In Scripture Babylon represents confusion and counterfeit worship. God warns lovingly so that His people may choose truth.
- 4
A faithful people
The third angel’s solemn warning ends with a description of God’s people: “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12). Obedience flows from faith in Jesus, not in place of it.
